FREIBURG 9/21/12
We drove Friday afternoon from Stuttgart to Freiburg and once we left the autobahn the rolling, green hills appeared. We stopped by an ice age lake, the Titisee, and could see the lovely contrast of dark green forest, lighter green patches of farmland and the beautiful blue lake.... a very nice resort area. Frieburg is a great University town with small canals/ streamlets of water running along side the streets... and we had dinner at a lovely old Gast Haus alongside a larger canal so we had the sound of running water:) The Freiburg minister is a huge red sandstone cathedral with stainglass windows from around 1320 that added to the beauty of the interior on our sunny day. So we walked the streets and enjoyed seeing the old city gates... and the students were enjoying the usual McDonalds, Starbucks and Burger King:) At about 8pm the rain started, but we couldn't complain as the day had
been sunny and fun!
