FRANKISCHE SCHWEIZ... FRANCONIAN SWITZERLAND

The Easter Fountains of our area are famous for their decorations of greens and eggs.   Most of the eggs are real egg shells that are hand painted by the village.  The fountains are drained for the cold winter and around Easter are decorated for Spring.   When the decorations are taken down the fountain is turned on until the next winter.   My Germany neighbor, Gertraud Orth, introduced me to this tradition and area last year and we returned again this April.  We enjoyed the fountains, a lovely walk along the fields and through the villages... very special:)
