OUR GERMAN NEIGHBORS:)

We moved to Schlossberg Strasse 37, in Sachsen (Bei Ansbach) a month after coming to Germany in 6/2010.  What a blessing to have such wonderful neighbors... and friends!  They have made our time in Germany so much better.  The second picture is of Fritz and Doris/Doila: retired physicians, proud parents of Barbara and Sabastian and grandparents of 5.  Fritz is a Rotarian and invited us immediately to some of the evening Rotarian, couples events: dinner and garden tour of the Orangerie of Ansbach, Brombrachsee tour and a lovely Christmas dinner in Triesdorf.   It was delightful to meet many other nice, welcoming (English speaking:) Germans.  They took us to a beer garden on the way to Spalt that had the traditional platter of meats/cheeses/radish/dark bread, yum;)  Doila always worked on their beautiful garden and we enjoyed it very much!   The last 2 pictures are of Gertraud... Kay's friend for trying to teach her German, taking walks, visiting many local sights such as the Hesselberg, Ruffenhofen and the Limesmuseum (The Romans built a manned border from 160-207AD that crossed Germany and is called the Limes=short 'i' and soft 'e').  Gertraud invited Kay to her 75th birthday party and the 3rd picture is with her sister, Gisele.  They all took Kay to the Frankische Schweiz (Franconian Switzerland) area to see the traditional Easter Fountain decorations.  Gertraud is the proud parent of Ulli and Alexander and the grandmother of 4.  As a widow, she and Kay usually met every week to talk, walk and eat together:) Gertraud plays the viola weekly with friends who also enjoy classical music... and speaks +3 languages.    We were so enriched by our lovely neighbors!!
