"Pink Martini" & "Dead Fish"
We have been thinking of the wonderful "old" parts of our life that are weaving into the "new" experiences that we are blessed to be having. The thrill of driving for the first time on the autobahn in the Porsche while listening to our favorite "Pink Martini" CD.... going to IKEA in Nurenberg, buying 3 jars of pickled herring ("dead fish" loved in the Moffat/ Rhoney families:).... eating the herring with Gouda cheese and bread from the local grocery for the past 3 evenings in our new home....
walking our new neighborhood and remembering Oregon and Ojai and Colorado and NC:)
We got oil delivered and today the hot water is ON:) Won't have phone/computer for another week so will keep our temporary housing base room with phone/computer (and 120V outlets!) but hope to start spending the nites soon in our new home. The picture is of the dining area in our "German" house..there is a lot of tile and wood throughout and it gives it a "different" feel, just as the bathrooms, fixtures, furniture and wall textures do..but to look out of those windows and see all of the white houses with red roofs, the church in the center of the village and the wonderfully green countryside..It is Germany. We bought another(larger) refrig/freezer, a new flatscreen, a microwave etc today..still movin' in. The weather has been very warm..in the 90's for a few days with more to come..Luckily both cars are comfortable with the air cond., so we travel in style..Washed the new Audi today..cleared out the garage so both cars can fit in (tightly). It is getting late now..more next time.

Oh, i don't see anything about an Audi in any of the earlier posts ... it sounds like you bought an Audi-yes? Rented ? What Audi? One of the S series? Two door/four door/roaster? Yes, many questions and a photo please and it sounds/reads so delicious your details of moving and enjoying the richness of your new life blended with the aged parts of your earlier life - thanks again Kay and Dale.
