SCHLOSS NEUSCHWANSTEIN

This castle is the most popular tourist attraction in Germany. It is the fairytale castle that Disneyland copied;) Ludwig II built it as a tribute to the composer Richard Wagner's operas and German mythology. He built it not far from where he spent his childhood in the Schloss Hohenschwangau (picture through the trees of the other castle). We didn't have a reserve ticket for a tour so we did not go inside this time but walked the steep trails and enjoyed the forest and views, especially from the Marienbrucke bridge behind the castle. We were home for dinner:)
