DRESDEN 1/22/11

We had a nice but long train ride to Dresden and enjoyed a night near their favorite church, Frauenkirche. Dresden was leveled on 2/13/45 and this church was only rebuilt after the reuniting of east and west Germany and reopened in 2005. Dresden is famous for the stunning Baroque buildings that have been restored and we actually liked the outside architecture more than most of the inside museums:) The Zwinger museums did have the famous Raphael painting, Sistine Madonna, that has the whimsical angels that we have seen on t-shirts for years:)
