CRUISING: HOME;)

We drove home from our Mediterranean cruise (after spending the night at Lake Garda) over the Timmelsjoch pass from Italy into Austria. We had driven this road over 20 years ago after spending the night in Solden, Austria on the way to Italy. Then the road had no guardrails!!! Much easier now, it still has amazing views of the Alps and we passed through Obergurgl which is the highest village in Austria:)

We came back through Garmisch and stopped at the small lake Riessersee. There use to be a military hotel here and the Rhoneys

stayed in it in the late 1940's!!! They have a picture of the lake and the view of the Zugspitze hanging in their home:)
