MICHELLE: RHINE RIVER

This is the last "post" on Michelle and Shams trip to see us in Germany....scroll down to the first one if you want to see them in order and remember you can click on a picture to see it enlarged:) Their trip June 5-19 was so special and FUN:) Our last day on the Rhine was perfect as we had a wine festival to enjoy, a castle to explore and the last night to try another Germany beer:) The wine festival was up the street from our Gast Haus and we watched the parade go by: 5 tractors, 2 convertibles with a Wine Princess, 1 float (pulled by a tractor) with Baccus the Wine God sitting on top of a huge wine barrel, 2 bands and people dressed in medieval costumes:) We, of course, sampled wines and ate bratwurst (the best we have had in Germany!). We drove back to St. Goar and explored the ruins of what was once the most powerful castle of the area, Burg Rheinfels. It was a perfect day to end a perfect trip!!
