JULY 3rd, 2013 ROTHENBURG

We have brought all of our family and friends to Rothenburg and then we have gone back on our own many times.  Only 25 minutes away from us and the "jewel" of the medieval walled towns, we still enjoy it every time.   We always find something new to discover besides the places we like.  BUT we had never spent the night or taken the Night Watchman tour at 8pm.  Since Dale had Thursday the 4th of July off and we were going to the Porsche Factory Tour.... we decided to stay in Rothenburg on July 3rd.  The Night Watchman 1 hour tour was very good, even with a hundred tourists in attendance:)   What was also nice was having the town mostly to ourselves as most tourists had left.  We walked along the top of the stone, medieval wall(bottom picture looking out of the wall)  went though one of our favorite gates (second picture) and enjoyed the local Fest.  Our Ansbach fest always has smoked fish as a traditional food... but we had never seen it smoked on sticks over the coals:)  We will probably go back at least one more time to Rothenburg before we leave Germany... always more to enjoy;)
