WEEKEND OF SEPT. 11th

We didn't post last weekend so will catch up now:) After a rainy, cool week (high in the 50's) we woke up to a nice weekend (sunrise picture of our view in Sachsen). Saturday we drove to Nurnberg looking for a small Octoberfest...we didn't find it but the Marketplace was filled with the biggest flea market we have seen. Tables filled with nice antiques and then blankets on the cobblestones with used toys, clothes and "stuff" from someone's home:) Lots of people and we had fun looking...even had nachos at a mexican style bar that weren't too bad!! Sunday we drove to Ingolstadt which is half way to Munchen (Munich)and on the Danube. It isn't listed in our Michelin guide but still was very picturesque with the river (picture with river), old buildings and churches with lovely baroque decorations...but, of course, the real reason we went was to see the Audi museum which Dale will share in the next posting:) When we returned to Ansbach we decided to walk into the Marketplace because they had a celebration with a lederhosen dressed, accordian playing band and beer and wine...just what we had wanted to find in Nurnberg! Every town is so "German" and delightful and when we go back for another visit, like Nurnberg, we find new lovely views and different things to enjoy and discover. Come visit so we can share with you:)

OMG! What an amazing sunrise! Must have been awesome to see! Wondered if you were going to try to take part in any Octoberfest or Fasching activities. Seems like only yesterday that we were there and I went to my first one. Such fun. The Audi museum looks really interesting...Dale you are dating yourself! LOL
