NORDLINGEN
Nordingen, another walled but much bigger medieval town, was having market day as we walked to the St. George's church (1490s) with it's famous copper-domed bell tower affectionately named "Daniel". We climbed the 350 steps to the top, ouch:), and saw a stork nest and a great view of town, the wall and garden platz where the germans have their chance to grow a garden while living in town (we have seen them in all the cities and each plot of ground has a small cottage/shed, very much like a very small summer 2nd home, and a meticulous garden/lawn area:) Great town but we liked Dinkelsbuhl more:)
