We left Germany in a freezing fog as we flew to Naples/Napoli where we had warm sunshine on Thanksgiving day:) Dale was disappointed in our small, scratched on every bumper car but as we drove to Positano on the Amalfi Coast with the very narrow, twisty roads, he was just fine with our "Poochy Boy" car:) Looking back at Naples from across the bay, we saw Mt. Vesuvius rising so close to the city and suburbs. We crossed over the from the Bay of Napoli at Sorrento to the fabled Amalfi Coast and it did not disappoint: rocky cliffs plunging into the sea with erosion of the sandstone causing unique rock formations and the formation of grottoes. The villages were nestled in coves or climbed up the very steep, terraced hills. Lemon trees are growing on the terraced hillsides and lemon soaps, perfumes and liquors are sold everywhere:) We stayed in Positano which was quieter since this was the "off " season, but the one road through the town was a very narrow lane due to all the locals parking on the side of the road.... where do the tourists park in the summer???
