We went to the Czech Republic this weekend. These two towns are famous and beautiful as spas and only about an hour into the country..North of Prague by about an hour also. Karlovy is also known as Karlsbad by the Germans, is the more fancy of the two and is built in a valley along a little river . The heated "thermals" enter in the upper part of the town and are distributed along the river to the many Spa Hotels as you can see in the center photo. The weather was a bit overcast and chilly, but we could imagine the crowded streets and shoppers that would be there in the summer. The second town is where we stayed for the night. We booked a nice little pension with a great breakfast and a great price, 45 euros. The bottom photo is one taken as we walked around a large park in the evening. Spa hotels such as this one surrounded the park. We ended up in a great mexican restaurant for drinks and a light dinner. The inside of the restaurant was unique in the way they decorated in "the mexican tradition" as you can see at one of the bars..we had some (and some more)of the great Czech beer..Urequell. We were out after breakfast the next morning and home just after noon....

What a picturesque town! So cool that you are seeing all these neat places. What memories and stories you will tell Max and Hawk. But still miss you!
