SKIING IN AUSTRIA/ISHGAL

On the way to our ski town in Austria, Ishgal....the roads were pretty clear of snow and the days were beautiful and blue, the valleys deep and the mountains high. Along the way we passed many a castle, perched high on the hill, some just ruins and others in pretty good shape. We wondered about the "old days" and how it must of been as the ancients came upon them as they walked and rode horseback along the streams and rivers that snaked the valleys. The upper right photo is in the village where the main lift strarted, and the photo just above as we ascend in the gondola. Remember that our hotel was halfway up the mountain and only accessable by lifts and skis, or a cat. What a beautiful area it was and we again lucked out with the weather...pretty cold, but great sunshine and blue sky.
