It has been over 20 years since we have visited Paris and we will go back for a longer trip... but Gail Woolf from Lake Oswego was in Paris on her way to India (!) and I "had" to go see her:) Paris is a great place to reconnect!! Even with rainy weather we so enjoyed our visit to Sacre Coeur, the lovely white Basilica on top of Montemartre with beautiful mosaics inside, and walking the small winding streets. A first for us both was the famous cemetery Pere Lachaise and we saw the grave of Jim Morrison... but Gail is in front of the remains of Chopin:) She shared the amazing Opera house with a ceiling by Chagal and the famous chandelier from Phantom of the Opera. It was worth the trip to see Gail and spend my one nite in Paris in the same hotel.... it was located on the Ile St. Louis and within 5 minutes of the magnificent Notre Dame. Wonderful new memories were made with Gail, but the trip also brought back the special memories of our last visit with our daughters... can't wait to go back! Last year at this time we had already had 3 set of visitors including Suzanne and family..... this year no visitors are scheduled:( If you can't come to Germany, please let us know where you are in Europe so we can try to come visit you there:)
