The Josefov, Jewish Quarter of Prague, has the oldest synagogue in Europe. The Old Jewish Cemetery holds 20,000 graves that were layered 12 deep and 12,000 tombstones that are packed together....This was the only burial site for 300 years (last burial in 1787!)for the Jewish walled ghetto. With the history of the Nazi death camps it is sad, very special area of Prague. The Charles bridge commissioned in 1357 by the Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV in 1357 is the favorite walk bridging the Vltva river from the Castle side to the Old Town Square side of town. There are at least 6 stone bridges. The river is lovely with boats, locks, restaurants..and ducks to enjoy:)
