AMAZING:)

We have many wonderful connections and memories with Switzerland...the first memory for me was as a junior in high school and my parents taking us 4 kids to Arosa for ski school before Christmas. I sprained my ankle the first day and when I got home, this "friend", Dale, started visiting to help me hobble around, see our pet gerbil... and we subsequently had our first date to hear the Messiah my dad was singing with the choir:) Christmas Eve......Chur is the gateway to Arosa (ski area) and next time we will take the time to make the little drive and check it out. Driving in Switzerland more than we have done before was a AWESOME experience..the picture on the left is leaving Chur and none of these pictures will do justice to how beautiful it all is (double click on a picture and you can see it bigger:). We took a scenic road that actually went into Italy and then back into Switzerland and was like the picture of the switchbacks...only worse!! I only screamed a few times:) Only with Dale driving and in the smaller Porsche would I have ever traveled these roads!!! Our 95 degrees from the day before, started to cool off as the clouds came in and we had different shawdows and views of the peaks all around us. We went through Flems where Dale and I skied with my parents and brother in 1977 before we had Suzanne and started our next stage of life (dad went back to Wiesbaden as a civilian, just like Dale is doing now, after he retired from his Air Force days:). We spent the night in Ilanz and woke up to rain;)

Rumor has it that your van is enroute to you so you can get a new experience driving these roads! :) Awesome photos...sounds like a wonderful trip! And that there is a little "history" from your past to remember makes it all so special. So I take it Dale had good bed side manners since you are still letting him hang out!?
