We stayed at a really nice hotel in Munich..went into the city by subway that evening and emerged at Marienplatz, considered the center of town. We decided to have a beer and some roasted chicken at the famous Hofbrauhaus. The crowd was still celebrating Fasching and we shared a table with this guy to the left..decked out in the traditional Bavarian garb with all sorts of things decorating his clothing. A lot of people came by to have their photo taken with him and then bought him a beer..we wondered how long he had been there and how much he had had to drink..a few more sights that evening and then back to the hotel for the night. Next day, after a great breakfast at the hotel, we visited the big Porsche dealership in Munich and then drove to the nearby Nymphenburg Palace. You can see the front of it in the photo and also how it looked in the reception area of the building, built in the late 1600's. Lots of artwork and history in this large property that used to be outside the city by some distance...now enveloped by the city's expansion. We left about noon and were home in a little over two hours.
