ROTHENBURG ob der TAUBER

We had a three day weekend over President's Day and decided to take a short trip...Saturday to Rothenburg since we heard there was a Fasching celebration ..turned out that it may not have happened, at least we couldn't find it..even so, we had a nice time walking around the village and seeing the sights...This walled city dates back to the 1300's and still has really old buildings, churches and houses. We visited the church(St Jacobskirche) there to see the wood carved alter piece (1504) that is in the photo above. It is wonderful that this treasure is only 30 minutes away from our home. We have visited it numerous times and each time we discover something else of interest.
